If you are considering choosing Goodnestone Church of England Primary School for your child please come and visit us – we would be delighted to show you around, tell you about our school and answer any questions you may have.

There are 10 places available for new entrants into the Reception class each year.

We have 3 classes where the children enjoy learning in a mixed age environment supported by their teachers, teaching assistants and peers. Class numbers in Reception and Key Stage 1 classes are not permitted to exceed 30 children.

We welcome parents expressing an ‘interest in future admissions’ at our school by registering your child’s details with the school office. This will ensure you receive a Common Application Form at the appropriate time. Registering an interest does not give your child priority when places are allocated by the Local Authority.

Admissions to the school for children entering the Reception classes are administered by the Local Authority through the Common Application Form submitted by parents in January 2018. Further information on the arrangements for entry to primary school can be found on www.kent.gov.uk , or in the Admission to Primary School booklet.

Parents applying for a place at the school must provide evidence of the child’s date of birth (birth certificate) and proof of current address (eg. utility bill from within the last three months or council tax bill). Parents who have applied for a place in our Reception classes for September  will be informed by the Local Authority of their decision at the end of March . Information on how to accept the offered place or appeal if your child is not allocated a place is included with the notification letter.

If you have recently moved to the area or are planning to do so, and you would like your child to transfer from their current school, you should initially contact the school to establish if we have a vacancy in your child’s year group. You will then need to apply via the Local Authority through an In Year Casual Admissions Form.
