Partnership with Parents

We know that working closely with our parents is the most effective key to the children’s learning and development. In addition to the more formal meetings we have twice a year, staff are out in the playground before and after school to talk with children and parents. This regular communication means that most concerns or questions are dealt with quickly and do not become issues. We operate an ‘open door’ policy with regards to parents, who are welcome in school at any time if they have a query or concern. The Headteacher is pleased to meet with parents and you are invited to make an appointment via the school office. The school seeks to actively involve parents in every aspect of school life. Volunteers are warmly welcomed to help out with a class, or offer support by helping our school to be warm and welcoming. All volunteers will need to be CBS checked.

We currently have parents that help with reading, after school clubs and school educational visits.

Goodnestone School Fundraising

Parents are automatically members which exists to improve opportunities for our children. Led by our Headteacher, organises fun events for the children and families and raises funds to support learning experiences at school. If you are interested in joining please see the school office.

They do a fantastic job in making sure our children always have those extras to enhance their life learning at Goodnestone. They also help keep the cost low for our parents by subsidising the annual Panto trip, swimming and school trips.
